How RMI has, and will continue to, positively impact Michigan patients and the doctors who care for them

There’s a common perception that all diagnostic imaging centers and the services they provide are the same. Nothing could be further from the truth!

Over the past 40 years, RMI has built the most comprehensive diagnostic imaging center network in Michigan. We offer a level of expertise, quality and service that is unmatched in our state. Here are just a few examples of what we’ve accomplished:

• Awarded American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditations in all 22 ACR categories of diagnostic imaging. These accreditations are the result of a voluntary evaluation process that demonstrates a commitment to quality and patient safety.
• The first in Michigan to introduce 4D breast MRI and breast cancer BRCA gene testing, and the first in Genesee County to offer digital breast tomosynthesis (3D mammography).
• The first private radiology facility in Michigan to be awarded a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the ACR.
• The first in Michigan to be approved by the Mammogram Medicare Screening Program and to become an ACR-approved Breast MRI Imaging Center.
• RMI is one of the only imaging centers in the United States to offer both contrast-enhanced spectral mammography (a diagnostic test) and rapid screening breast MRI (a screening test).
• We are revolutionizing prostate cancer screening with advanced, multi-parametric prostate MRI that can help men avoid an unnecessary prostate biopsy and the associated side effects.
• We are champions of preventive health, offering CT lung screening, cardiac CT calcium scoring and coronary CT angiography for the early detection of the nation’s deadliest diseases.
• We’re among the first to bring minimally invasive pain management services to help patients with chronic pain regain their lives and reduce their need for medication.
• We have grown to 10 convenient locations throughout Michigan.

What’s in store for the future of diagnostic imaging excellence?

• We are integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology and patients are already benefiting from its use regarding earlier, highly accurate diagnoses.
• We are embracing new technologies that offer the chance for more personalized patient care and customized treatment approaches.
• We will continue to lead and educate both patients and their doctors on important issues such as breast density and how it can impact breast cancer screening, as well as adjunctive screening options for women with dense breasts.
• We are lowering the overall cost of healthcare by investing in newer, faster and more efficient technologies, offering quality alternatives to high-cost diagnostic imaging tests and delivering fair pricing for uninsured or under-insured patients.
• We are planning to incorporate theranostics—diagnostic examinations to help determine if a patient may benefit from specific drugs and other therapies before undergoing treatment. This will result in more precise treatment that may be more efficient and effective than current approaches.
• We will continue to revolutionize and improve the patient experience by offering the highest quality diagnostic testing and exceptional service in a more comfortable, convenient and patient-friendly outpatient environment.
